Sarah Palin Biographical Sketch
English
Sarah Palin made history on December 2, 2006 when she became the first woman to ever become governor in the state of Alaska. Since being elected Alaska has invested five billion dollars in saving, implemented the Senior Benefits Program to provide support for older low-income Alaskans, and overhauled education funding. She also created Alaska’s Petroleum Systems Integrity Offices to supervise and uphold oil and gas equipment. Also facilities and infrastructure, and the Climate Change Subcabinet meant to develop a climate change plan for Alaska. Since elected into office Sarah top priorities have been ethics reform, energy development, education and workforce development, transportation and infrastructure development, and public health and safety. Obviously you can see Sarah Palin’s great decision making and leadership skills by these examples. Here are some examples of her ability to save Alaska, and soon to be the U.S., through wise economic decision. When gas and oil prices rose severely which made the state revenues rice, Governor Palin sent large portions of those proceeds back to the people of Alaska, and also eliminated the states fuel tax. When asked by congress about, what she calls, the “Bridge to Nowhere” she said “Thanks but No Thanks” to wastefully spending nearly half a billion dollars. She also took some sensible actions to deduct the cost and size of her office by selling the states luxury jet, and by getting rid of the personal chef and personal driver.
Sarah Palin’s experience other than Alaska’s governor is that she served two terms on the Wasilla City Council. During her two terms she lowered property tax levels while increasing services and turned Wasilla into a business friendly community, which drew in new industry. She also stopped wasteful spending and always put the people first. She also served as chair ad ethics commissioner of the Alaskan Conservation Commission, which controls Alaska’s most valuable resources: gas and oil.
